Hmm, I wonder if anyone still looks through this page – it’s been almost 5 months since I wrote the last time, crazy.. almost half a year. It’s 4 months I’m back from HK and I still can’t find peace – I miss it so much! I miss my friends there, all the great places to eat and party, all the hiking routes and beaches, all shops, temples, parks..

For those who wonder what I did all this time and mostly for myself, so that I would realize I was not asleep, I’ll try to tell what I was doing after HK. Before leaving I’ve spent a week all alone in Malaysia – mmm, all those white beaches, colorful fishes and cool water.. It was amazing!

Then I had lots and lots of farewells – thank you AIESEC PolyU for organizing such unforgettable party for me! I love you all and miss you like hell. Thank you for all the presents (choi sum, album, etc.), KaKa’s great great cheese cakes and all the emotions you gave me! And Farewell Dinner in Wings with interns – I still see all your faces in front of my eyes. Thank you Nadya and Maggie for spending the last moments in HK with me and thank you twins and Freddy for coming to the airport. It’s strange to write all these “thankyous” after so much time, but it feels like it was just a moment ago.

And then there was flight – I love long distance flights with all the nice food and drinks and good movies I’ve spent 3 days in London and I liked the city so much – after HK all this space and history was just an extraordinary experience. Mmm, long walks, museums, churches, small markets – I really want to come back to London one day.

Coming back home was so nice - I saw all my family and friends, how much the city has changed, all these new buildings and shops, I had loooong walks in the old town and loooong conversations with people I haven’t seen for a year. I had a very nice time in annual Sea Festival in Klaipeda with interesting concerts and shows. With my roommates travelled a bit through small villages of western Lithuania and found really beautiful places. Went to Nida – my favorite place in Lithuania with extraordinary sand dunes and travelled for several days in Latvia, where we found lots and lots of amazing things to see.

Oh, and then Gordon came to Lithuania! I showed him Vilnius around and my mum forced pour guy to try roasted pig ears and pink soup. Then we met with Jurgita and all three of us travelled to Trakai – a former Lithuanian capital with a castle in the middle of the lake (yes, Maggie, I will take you there, too). There we also tried kibinai – traditional karaim dish – I with cottage cheese for the first time and Gordon in general for the first time :)

Then there were Vilnius days with very nice performances and I went to school to meet my former English teacher. In the beginning of September all my friends (except one) where back to Lithuania, which means lots of parties, cooking together, movies, etc. While I was still in Klaipeda I helped out AIESEC to start their work there – these guys are amazing and they will achieve a lot!

I had my class meeting – it was soooo great!! At least for me :) I had so much fun talking to all of them. 26 people came, including our form master, and we all squeezed in a small hall of a club called Bruce Lee, which is owned by one of the classmates and is one the most popular places in Vilnius to spend your time :)

I started helping out my parents with their business (now I can make a very nice project of a kitchen :)) and went to Finland to meet future partners and negotiate about the prices. I loved the journey as I had a chance to see a bit of Finland again – of course we went to IKEA for Christmas decorations and HONKA exhibition to see our dream houses. And we’ve spent a night at my parents’ friend with a very very nice sauna. On a way back I got to see my little cousin in Tallinn – she’s so big already!! And so smart :)

Uff, it’s a long and, as Nadya would say, random letter.. To sum up – I am so confused about my life now, as I have no idea what am I gonna do and what I want to do. The good thing is that I can choose freely from all opportunities – after more than 4 years I am on my own again without any restrictions or obligations.. It’s strange and it will take time to get used to this situation, but I guess I won’t regret it in the future.

Christmas is coming!!!! Yeahhhhh!!!!

Hello my friends!!!

My brain is no longer working properly - all events & last week at work & Malaysia trip coming up & flight back home in 16 days & buying all the present & packing.. Uf :) This month and a half since I've written last time was as amazing as all other 10 months of my life in HK!

Have you ever? - Do you know how to make sushi? Do you remembered how to skate? Have you ever seen Nigerian skating? Did you ever see Bun Festival and try pink buns? Have you ever had a hike during a heavy rain in Lamma island and a swim to get warm in a sea during the thunderstorm? Have you ever heard Hilton (most dedicated to fast food person in interns community) saying that he could eat Bookworm (vegetarian/organic) food everyday? Did you have a mmmmmdeliciuos buffey lunch with my 3 best colleagues? Have you been to International Dinner with "lazy" Lithuanian cake? Did you ever try to prepare aiesec'ers for internship on two day seminar? Did you ever have a great secret birthday celebration of your friend with bottle of wine in Star Avenue? Have you ever been on a Cruise in Victoria harbour (thank you thank you thank you Roman!)? Did your best friends come to visit you to the other side of the world? Have you ever been to Dragon Boat race? Have you ever met people you thought you will never see (Ling, Paula - it was sooo great to see you!)? Have you ever spent a day on a boat trip with a bunch of great people, beautiful weather, water skiing, good food, nice drinks, warm water and lots of sunshine? Have you ever seen 30 people singing karaoke all together in a small dark room? :D Where you ever in crazy party with "Hong Kong" theme, where all girls would wear leggings, short jeans skirts and guys would be with most amazing hairstyles? Did you ever try moving from old flat to a new one after all night partying? Did you ever carry a wardrobe to 4th floor? Did you ever see people falling in love with cheese cake so bad, that they couldn't stop thinking about it even when they are barely conscious? Or that they would try to make it themselves, though, it takes four nights in a row to stir it? Have you ever seen 30 minutes long fireworks? Or children sleeping during it? Did you ever see a thunderstorm coming while you're in the beach, all people running from it, sun umbrellas flying over your head and rain so heavy, that you soak through in 10 seconds. Have you? Well.. I have :D Take a look:

Will you ever? - I trully hope so!! I wish you all to have as many magical moments as I had - it's a life changing experience, which not only makes you a better person, but also fills you up with and extraordinary feeling of complete satisfaction. And talking about my nearest future - I'm leaving to Malaysia this Sunday. I am going to Borneo Island, Sabah region for 8 days. Then I fly to London on 19th of July and spend couple of days there with Ruta. And finally - on July 22nd (Sunday) 21:55 I will land in Vilnius..

Invaded HK

Hei, it's been a while since I wrote something.. So I guess it's time for a newiest update on my adventures in shoppers and eaters paradise :)

Invasions - firstly, there was Dutch invasion with a very nice Dutch dinner in Nepalese restaurant, including detailed explanations of Dutch anthem and amazing demonstration of it :D At the same time there was invasion of drunk fat old men dressed up as bunnies, cowboys and hookers for Rugby 7ns in HK.

And then there was invasion of Lithuanian's - my friend Lina came to visit me for 20 days and we had an amazing time partying, trying out Durian fruit (never ever ever again...), swimming in mountain river, drinking fruit shakes, sleeping in the beaches, practising Tai Chi and Hello Kitty moves :) And we had Lithuanian's meeting!! There was me, Lina, Mantas, Dalia (visiting HK for few days), Andrius (living in HK for 6 years now), Sigute (model at the moment working in HK) and Giedrius (DJ playing great Hip Hop in one HK club).

Afterwards my parents came to visit me and we had really nice time together - I am soooo happy they liked HK so much! And it was so good to see them again. It's just a pity their stay here was only ten days and that's far too little to see this place.

And then there was small invasion of Canadians - Liz and her friend Diana came back to HK for couple of days and stayied in my place on their way from Korea to Vietnam.

Observations - one of the things I liked about all those people visiting me was the funny stuff they were noticing around themselves. That everyone in HK has very clean shoes and that men have very long fingers and nice nails. That Chinese people have very lovely noses and that you could never ever make a stylish guy in Lithuania wear amber bracelet or pink shoes :)

Changes - actually there's one big change.. I've become vegetarian! I've always wanted to and then during one workshop on Global warming in AIESEC conference I decided, that I will become vegetarian right now. It's not easy, though.. Not because of food - that's the easiest part and I am very happy to eat much more healthy now. However, there are lots of people trying to convince me, that I shouldn't be doing it - and that's the hard part, to handle that pressure.. But I'm not giving up!

Random stuff - it's been a month and a half since I wrote last time and during that period some new interns came and more are coming soon. And some old ones left - Sefan, JP and Fumi are leaving soon.. Ech.. I facilitated in one more AIESEC conference (National Leadership Seminar) together with unbelievable people - Ryan from AI, Francois from France, Andrey from Russia/Phillippines and bunch of amazing local AIESEC'ers. It was unforgettable experience!

We also organised Eastern European Easter :D With lots and lots of potatoes (mashed potatoes, potato salad, potato pancakes, baked potatoes, fried potatoes..), lessons how to paint eggs and some traditional games. I loved it!

Oh, and my company is taking 2 more interns after me! And I am the one to find them - if you are interested, let me know :) Talking about future, I hope I will have a bit quieter time now with my job and with my life. At least for a month - and then there will be one more grand Lithuanians invasion - my girlz are comin'!

Smiling Asia ~ Thailand

Apart from pealing off from half an hour of sunburn for the third time (did you know, that even your ears can peal off?). Apart from dealing with rather annoying attacks with different offers from Tuktuk, boat and taxi drivers, jewellery shops managers, tourist agents and guides, bell boy, salespeople and almost anyone who has a relative with profession mentioned above. Apart from loosing trust in everyone who offers you help or nice a advice. Apart from hot damp sticking to you weather. Apart from view to rubbish piles from your room/cell. Apart from scrambled egg, fruits, potato and bread served in one plate for breakfast. Apart from delayed flight. Apart from all that - Thailand was amazing!!! :D

We've spent 2 full days in Bangkok - visited huge statue of lying Buddha and huge statue of standing Buddha, saw golden Buddha and got a beautiful view of Bangkok from the Golden Mountain. Were in temple all made from white marble imported from Italy. All the time travelled with boat (it's faster and much more fun, than being stuck in traffic jam) and also tried out Tuktuk - I really enjoyed it! Where in legendary tourists street - Khao San. And also went to a huge aquarium.

After Bangkok we travelled to Krabi and took ferry to Koh Phi Phi island famous for it's beautiful white sand beaches with clear turquoise water. These were relaxing days spent just swimming and drinking fresh fruit shakes :) One day we took a long tail boat and travel around visiting Vikings' cave (locals are picking birds nests there), Monkey beach (aahh, I saw wild monkeys!), beach where the movie "The Beach" was filmed, Bamboo island, we were snorkelling (the colours of the fishes are indescribable!!) and saw a sunset in the middle of the sea. Mmm :)

Last day in Thailand we've spent in Krabi - small seaside town, just swimming in a pool, eating delicious Thai food, walking around in the seafront path and having dinner in the open night market. Our favourite discovery of the trip - Thai pancakes with bananas and chocolate cream :D

It has been an amazing journey and I really need to come back there again. Next time I want to go to Chiang Mai. There's so much I didn't do this time - I didn't have Thai food cooking classes, I didn't ride on the elephant and I didn't have Thai massage. But I will! One day :)

Oh! And advice for the end - when someone is offering you something the only way to get rid of them is smile :) Don't say anything, just smile!

Oh (No.2)! Yesterday on BBC I heard that one man from Switzerland will be jailed for 10 years for spraying black paint on king's Bhumibol Adulyadej posters. How crazy a man can be to do that?! Every second person is wearing yellow T-shirt to honour his majesty, his and his wife's pictures and posters saying "Long live the king" are all over the country and everyone just loves him in Thailand.

Hei my beloved ones!

A bit late, as always, but still - Kung Hei Fat Choi! Happy Chinese New Year of Golden Pig !!! May they bring you only joy, happiness and fortune :D

Mmm.. Dance.. Since I have written last time, there have been soooo many amazing adventures! I've seen Maria Pages dancing just in front of me (for those who don't know - she's the best flamenco dancer in the world! At least for me :)). And for the first time I saw Hong Kong audience reacting as a real audience in Camut Band show - but how can you not react seeing those man dancing like that! And I've been in legendary interns' club Trebecca - it was so great to dance throughout the night, I've missed that :) And there's not only dancing in my life - there's also singing! With Karaoke becoming more and more.. hmm.. appreciated :D

Mmm.. Beijing.. Yeah! There was cold, clear blue sky, amazing hotel, crazy drivers, no English, shopping stops during excursions (jade, pearls, silk - who needs all that?), roasted Beijing duck, beautiful places - Ming Tombs, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven. And I climbed up to the top of Great Wall, so according to chairman Mao - I am a real man now. Does anyone want to take that? I'm giving it away for free, as I prefer being a woman.

Mmm.. Red fever.. I loved celebration of Chinese New Year! Finally visiting home of a local family (Traz, thank you sooo much! You can't imagine how much that meens to me) and trying out salty and later on sweet and sticky rice balls (Tung Yuen). Flower Market in Victoria Park - that was unbelievable, thousands and thousands of flowers and their smell is.. Mmm.. Kumquat trees, narcissus, peonies, peach blossoms, tangerine plants.. Oh, and parade with long dragons and Lion Dances. A swim in Shek O beach on the first day of new year, again :) And deliciuos lunch in Thai restaurant there - I've tried fresh coconut jiuce for the first time! Fantastic 20 minutes long fireworks - I have never ever seen anything like that, the final minutes hypnotised me! Visiting Stanley - they really have a nice market there, but most importantly - I've got a half pint of white beer!! Traditional Dim Sum with interns and visiting huge Wong Tai Sin temple with crowds of people, unbearable mist of incense smoke and ashes falling all over you. And I received 4 red pockets!!! Yeah :D

All in all, it has been an amazing February - with lots of good food (xexe) and memories, that I will cherish for the rest of my life. And as I face half-way of my internship, I proudly announce that I am truly madly deeply in love with Hong Kong! :D

Mmm.. Future.. I am taking vacations for two weeks and going to Thailand (Bangkok, Krabi - here I come!). Most hopefully I will facilitate one more national AIESEC conference in the beginning of April. And then there will be Sfiesta, one of my best friends, visiting me for 2 weeks. Yeahhh!!!

Firstly - a bit (very) late but sincere - congrats on New (Western) 2007!!! I guess it is time for new dose of stories from my life, as time does fly - faster and faster...

Adapt me – I realised that no matter how many words I will learn in Cantonese, it won't help at all, as each time I use a wrong tone out of those 9 ones.. Although everyone is eating sooo loud – that is not so easy to learn. Somehow I get more air than food… Despite those mentioned above, I am becoming real HKer – 'All Stars' snickers, huge bag with something even bigger hanging on it and a small paper bag to carry what does not fit into big one, MP4 player, striped T-shirt, doing make-up in a minibus, shopping after work and really enjoying food… Brr :D

The army of Holiday Pluses – thanks God they are no longer multiplying in geometrical order, otherwise, I would go insane. However, I still see/ do/ experience in one week more, than I would in several months back home.

Christmas was great – I made 80 sweat and soft buns with jam called “Cold Noses” ("Saltanosiai"), it took me 5 hours, but I made them! And now I understand why my grandma makes them only once a year :) I also made “Lithuanian white salad”. Or at least something that looked.. white :D There were no green pees and marinated cucumbers in it.

So Christmas with interns was real fiest with Nigerian rice, Canadian turkey, Slovakian sauer kraut soup, Hungarian meat and HK fish balls, desert from Kyrgyzstan, etc. And traditional (if you can call plastic straws instead of ray 'traditional') Lithuanian fortune telling enthusiastically introduced by Jurgita and even more enthusiastically accepted by guests.

On Christmas day we also did some hiking on Dragon Back and chose this attraction as an interesting possibility to meet New Year. You can't imagine how crazy bunch of foreigners with lighters in the forests climbing up the hills in the middle of the night look like :D Drinking champagne in huge wind on the top of a mountain.. It was amazing, although at the same time very strange - we haven't seen a single firework.

Small drops of memories - a little bit of piercing to make my life more crazy.. Drinking hot soy milk - available only in HK, only in winter. Flying kite, blowing bubbles and eating ice-cream in a Waterfront park on the last day of 2006. Taking a refreshing swim in a sea on the first day of 2007. Catching a mouse in our house with banana trap.

Facilitating in Winter National Conference for future interns - I guess it was more useful for me, then for them (Nadya, Alvin & Sefan - it was great to work with you guys!). Getting a little bit of water, while representing international candidate for MC elections (now I know how it feels - it feels strange). Laughing with amazing MBA students and their great support - unforgettable time.

Saturday breakfast each time becoming sweeter and sweeter :) Playing golf for the first time - it's easy to get addicted! Hiking in amazingly beautiful beaches and forests, climbing up the hills in white mist. New interns - rrr, fresh blood :D Mantas arrival to Hong Kong - aaahhh!!! Talking to him made me realise, that I have not seen myself for 4 months - I missed myself.. But much more - my friends.

Rush into future - I'm going to the concert that I have never thought I will see in my life! Together with other interns I'll do several team buildings for AIESEC in HK. After a week my aunt and uncle arrives - can't wait to see Beijing!!! Great Wall - I am coming :D And then - Chinese New Year with pigs, red pockets, fireworks (finally!!) and crowds of people.

Fascinating Hong Kong

Here comes my monthly adventures report, dear friends! This time - finnaly in English, because of pressure and respect :D

New pluses - In huge conference about Branding I was responsible for speakers and got to know amazing people (DHL marketing director, HSBC general manager, Starbucks vice-president) and became closer to my collegues. Had unforgettable weekend in Lamma Island with buch of trainees, orientation game, bbq and pasta, beach party, long swims in a sea (in the begining of December - crazy!!) and even longer conversations, mmm.. :) Saw beautifull tap dance performance. Finnaly got up to Victoria Peak at night time - extraordinary!! Survived hike in jungles!!! Those montains, forests, small rivers are marveluos!! With my brave friends sang karaoke for 5 hours :D And yesterday I found a park in my district - most beautiful & relaxing place in HK!

Database of "weird" - from now on I am known as weird lady from Eastern Europe, who washes oranges, kiwis and bananas before eating. Suposedly the rest of the world does not.. I know local people with first English names Pineapple, Oxygen, Stone, Monkey, Water, etc. There's a stamp with expire date on each egg you buy.

Moments I charish - opening parcels from my family (ahhh, tea/ chocolate/ magazines) and friends for my B-day & X-mas :) Standing in warm Sounth China sea with stars above my head, surrounded by people who became so close to me (love ya guys!) while listening to Bob Marley. Sitting in Tai Po Waterfront park with cup of hot milked tea and watching a boy learning to ride a bike. Eating deliciuos pancakes made by Nadia with trainees from 7 different countries for weekend breakfast. Seeing smiles and encourigement of MBA students on creativity trainings late Saturday afternoon. Recieving news that Mantas was accepted by SwissRe (congrats boy, you did it!!!). Getting all those green presents (Liesbeth you are my saviuor :D) - I have a strong branding :)

What future holds? Facilitation in Winter National Conference for Outgoing Exchange preparation. 7 more creativity trainings. Christmas Eve in MC appartment with great challange to make Lithuanian dishes without Lithuanian ingridiants. New Year celebration!!! New semester - 500 more students. Marie, Rio, Arne, Bomi leaving back home... Visit of my aunt with uncle and journey to Beijing.

That's it - I am leaving to Hong Kong!!!

I have been dreaming about traineeship for 4 years and here it comes - most probably the biggest adventure of my life...

I am terribly scared, excited and happy at the same time :)
